1. Welcome to the Scene Safety Simulator. Your goal is to locate the victim ~inside the simulator as quickly and as safely as possible. However, there ~are many hazards within the simulator, so dont become a victim yourself. ~~If you have not experienced this type of 3D environment before, you must ~first get used to moving around.~~There are 2 ways to navigate the scene survey simulator. The easy way~is to hold down the right mouse button. The rescuer will walk towards the ~green GO arrow while the button is held down until he walks into an obstacle ~or a hazard.~~ Alternatively you may use the arrow keys. Press the Up arrow key to move ~forward, the Down arrow key to move backwards, the Left Arrow key to turn ~left, and the right arrow key to turn right. The Page Up and Page Down ~Buttons allow you to look up and down.~~Clicking certain objects within the room (mainly the light switches) ~will open or activate them. When you find a hazard, you will need to ~neutralize it by inactivating or identifying it. This is done by dragging an icon ~from the left panel and placing it on the hazard.~~Press s to turn sound on and off.#
2. Good the door is open. Use the arrow keys to walk up the steps and enter ~the scene survey simulator. Enter the room, but dont go in too far, as it is ~very dark and there are hazards waiting for you. ~~Use the Left or Right arrows to turn around. Can you find the light switch? ~When you do, press on it with your left mouse button. With the light on you ~will be able to see 2 hazards which will need your attention. There is a 3rd ~hazard that you must prevent before proceeding too far.#
3. Well done. You have successfully climbed the stairs and entered the ~simulator. If you have not turned on the lights, this would be a good time to ~do so. Watch out for the door accidentally closing. This is a hazard, as not ~only may poisonous gases or fumes may build up within the room, but you ~no longer have a clear and easy escape. Also other rescuers and ~bystanders may not be able to communicate with or see you. ~~To keep the door open, you will need to chock it open with the bin. Position ~yourself slightly away from the door and look down (page down button) so ~that you can see the bottom of the door. Drag the bin icon from the left panel, ~near the bottom of the open door (over the grey square mat just inside the ~door). The bin should then appear in front of the door and prevent it from ~closing. #
4. Excellent. You have found the light switched and turned it on. You have ~chocked the door open with the bin so it cant swing shut. Before you ~continue too much further, you need to ensure that two nearby hazards are ~identified, using the appropriate icons from the panel on the right. Proceed ~with caution.#
5. Good. With the light on you should be able to see two nearby hazards. ~However, one less obvious hazard is the door. It will swing shut if you dont ~chock it open with the bin. Position yourself slightly away from the door and ~look down (page down button) so that you can see the bottom of the door. ~Drag the bin icon from the left panel, and place near the bottom of the open ~door (over the grey square mat just inside the door). The bin should then ~appear in front of the door and prevent it from closing.#
6. Watch out. The door has swung shut. This is a potential hazard that must ~be fixed immediately. You will need to place the bin in front of the open door ~to prevent it from accidentally closing.#
7. Unfortunately with the light off it is not safe to continue. You will need to find ~the light switch and click it with your mouse to turn it on. There are indeed 3 ~light switches that must be turned on as you progress through this simulation.#
